MT Washi tape pop up store at Kinokuniya KLCC

I’m a newbie in washi tape. I have only got to know about them since 2015.  I bought my few first rolls from aliexpress. Many months later I discovered washi tape sellers in our local scene. My current favourite is Lootersbox. I really hope they would open a physical store in Melaka one day and conduct workshops and such. I would be their regular customer and buy something on a weekly basis even though they’re just sticker flakes.

Last Wednesday I went to Kinokuniya KLCC to check out the MT Washi Tape pop up store.

I salute Youtubers who could produce content on a regular basis on their channel. I think it requires courage and be a bit shameless on your part to actually hold out your camera in public to capture a moment. I am a bit shy on that part which is an obstacle, I think, if you intend to be a Youtuber or successful lifestyle blogger. But it’s ok, it is a learning curve for a jaded writer like myself. There is always a price to pay for being successful but let’s hope it is all worth it yahh..

I spent just below RM300 in Kinokuniya alone on the washi tapes and FLOW magazine.  I figured since this is an annual event for MT, I should splurge within my means and save more money again for next year’s convention. After all, I did miss the ones they had in Pavillion last year.

If I were to include my petrol, toll and duit makan all… I’d say the trip to Kay Ell is about RM500. Thank Allah for pay day the next day. Regardless, I am a happy lady. A happy mom. A happy wife. Not so happy to get back to work the next day though.

Change demands patience

Remember the promo video I made for our upcoming Family Day?

Well, let’s just say that the precious hours I spent creating it over the weekend seems to be of no value to some people. Despite the date and venue has been pre-authorised prior to my appointment as the president of the programme – we are expected to make changes to the plan.

To the drama kings and queens, if you have already got an idea of what you’d like to do for our family day, then by all means  … such suggestions should be presented to the floor during the meeting. Not after. Not behind my back. tetiba condemn. tetiba tak puas hati.. nak gempak tapi tak nak bayar. spesis mcm ni memang aku tak faham.

Tackling the Problem

There are a few ways on how I can react to the news.

I can be a dick (not that I have one, perhaps I need to surgically attach one), be oblivious to the drama, go ahead with the original plan and suffer a boycott of the event.

I can also be a witch. Cancel everything and refuse to carry out any look-alike programmes for the whole year. Or if I morph into a bitchy witch, then a hiatus in clinic social activities for the next half decade. No jamuan raya whatsoever.

In the end, I choose to be an angel after a few hours of dissing ( I am human after all). Let go. Clear my head. And start all over again. At least it made me learn more about the dynamics of staff relationship within the clinic. I do know that the walls have ears. It seems that they can talk too.

HOBOMINCI

Consequently, my HoboMinci needs a revamp. I will need a big sticker to cover that FDKKC part. Thankfully I have bought new die-cuts, washi and what not from Lootersbox the other day. Through the most trustable shopping app in Msia i.e. Shopee.

Lootersbox is an online based shop that sells planner/journal related stuff and these peeps are based in Melaka. Oh how I wish that they would open a store like Stickerrific one day and hold workshops! I would be a regular patron. Sokay,  I will include them in my prayers to be successful and own a physical store. InsyaAllah.

As of the matter earlier, I guess I just have to be patient. Keep my mouth shut. Refocus and re-prioritise. I suppose we could repurpose certain ideas. Not all are redundant.

*yawn*

Buy Me a Coffee at ko-fi.com

The Shopee Haul. Part uno.

Stress (disappointment) + Fatigue + IHaveMoneyInMyBankAccount ..

… led me to a shopping spree online last week. And now I have to pay the price to keep myself put at home waiting for my nonsense stuff to arrive. No jalan2 or poya2 merata-rata. Mesti tunggu posmen. Good thing though because it’s so challenging to bring Ninie. I don’t remember feeling very anxious bringing Ee out when he was a baby. In fact, I could easily drive back to Jenjarom with him strapped in the child carseat without an ounce of fear.

Perhaps it’s the world nowadays. Setan behind the mask of innocent looking faces. I wouldn’t even let a stranger makcik to hold NInie. Not even a short cuddle. To me, EVERYONE IS EVIL. EVERYONE WANTS SOMETHING FROM ME. Then there’s reckless drivers on the road. Insane, young, hormonal driven adults in the malls.  Ohgosh.. I’m a paranoid mom. AM I?

Back to my haul. Initially I had NINE parcels to wait on. I had to cancel one as per requested by the seller because she has an emergency at her kampung and she couldn’t deliver the items. my guess is – the item is out of stock. Tapi takpelah.. got refund. but I really wanted that washing machine rack. it would look neat in the kitchen.

Most of my items are planner related stuff.

Then, there’s MISSHA. I had to get my foundation from Shopee because Hermo was selling it at a retail price of RM79. I  have paid for it cheaper…so hell no am I going to fork out that much money. This is my 5th year using MISSHA and did I tell you it’s TIME REVOLUTION ESSENCE is the bomb?  It cost less than SKII and I think it does an equally good job. I glow without makeup. And I look like I had a shower too. Good for early morning school runs. thank god for wearing a hijab as well. Takdelah mcm hantu mak limah sgt..

And of course I need to buy a white elephant item like a cereal dispenser which was not practical in this country. First, it is not airtight. Secondly, ants always finds a way to share your cereals. And now I have to find a place  to hide it from my husband before he comes back from his Sakura Science Programme in Japan. The ants had a buffet with my healthy cereals. Huhu.

I still have 5 more parcels on the way. And that is part Deux.

The Haul from ShopeeMY… with a bit of melalut stuff in the beginning

If I’m not taking any leave or going for holidays, that means I’ll not be out and about spending my hard earned salary that much. It also means I’ll be coveting over stuff online. Which in turn means more online purchases and more poslaju parcels arriving at my workplace. It’s almost always my parcel that comes through. And they’re not the typical thing a career woman buys like baju or tudung. They’re kawaii stationaries.

Not that I’m a studious person. Like oh my goodness.. ko beli bebanyak memo pad buat apa kan? or the occasional odd questions like – what do you use these pens or paper clips for? or tape ni utk apa? saja tampal mulut ko.

Well.. most of them I use for my journalling. Yes, I’m back to that hobby. The internet.. Facebook especially has become a very harsh place to put down your little thoughts. Because everything you say apparently has got something to do with one of your friends. Walhal.. sometimes I’m talking about a situation that resurfaced in my memory which took place probably many months ago. And it’s not about you – you egocentric perasan pompuan..

Blogs are not that safe either but the exposure is less. If the issue is too sensitive – I’ll just private my post and invite certain people to read it. Or if its damn classified, wait till I die then ask our Malaysian Special Force to hack it. Journals are best. If I really hate someone, I can just print out their face from a photo in FB, stick it in my journal and doodle ugliness on it. Something like voodoo but no needles involved. Or washitape them like mummies of the past.

ANYWAY, this was supposed to be a haul post. See how I melalut. ShopeeMY has this free shipping thing going on still on their site. Of course, I took the opportunity to restock my stack of washi and memo pads. I did more exploring and decided on 2 other stores selling these cute stuff.

LOOTERSBOX

My favourite item from this haul is the Superman Slim Tape and the Farm Animals. I loved how LootersBox included a free sample of Washi Tape. Knowing myself – if I happen to like the sample/freebie there is a high chance I’ll be returning to the shop to buy more. Not only for the Superman tape but also for those scissors slim tape because I love sending off parcels and cards too. It makes a good seal.

LITTLEZAKKA

My favourite items are the travel sticky pad set and the panda memo set. I was obviously excited and grateful as I noticed a cute freebie collar bookmark in the package as well. I had been surveying other online stores in ShopeeMY for better deals but I find LittleZakka offers the best price for them memo pads. I will definitely keep them on my watch list.

So don’t wait and hesitate. Head over to ShopeeMY now.
