“Hobonichi means Almost Everyday”

I call mine my #HoboMinci. And so far the journaling game is still going on strong. I have a lot of reflections and activities to reminisce on, I guess. My choice of medium are similar to previous years – washi, stichers, colourful inks, instax photos… I tried to take up stamping but it’s too much effort for me. Although I do love to see people do it in Instagram.

My monthly page are usually very simple. My weekly pages are more detailed. I try to divide my weeks into a few categories.

Work.

Social Media.

Non-work daily To- Dos.

Weekends.

My daily pages are the most interesting. On certain days I have a lot to shout about. Or social meets to keep memories of.

Sometimes it is just quiet. No words. Just washi or die cuts to fill the page.

I ramble.

I reflect on religion or important stuff.

I write down memorable quotes.

Sometimes I give movie reviews.

Or extending a thought from a book I read.

Sometimes it a Pinky and The Brain moment as I elaborate on my plan. Like the iftar get together a few months ago.

In short, there is never just a single way on how you choose to fill up your Hobonichi. In Malaysia, there is only a handful of us using Hobonichi. Price is a major factor. Furthermore, journaling or diary keeping is just not everybody’s cup of tea. Despite that, we still find joy in our little group called Planner Addicts Malaysia on Facebook. We get to mingle with fellow planners using other brands of journals. And if I need a more international take to my #hoboMinci – I have the Rainbowholic FB group for inspiration.

I heard there’s a Jibun Techo out there. I am keen to explore that as well. We will see.

HoboMinci and side kicks

Salam and Hi. For those who have not known yet I affectionately call my hobonichi my Hobominci.

Yesterday I took the opportunity to declutter and rearrange the furniture and planner related stuff I have in my Minci Cave. As expected, there’s a lot of dust. I sneezed almost all the time but I managed to get the place in order about 70% I still have another 30% to go today. Naturally I got distracted looking into my washi tapes journalling cards and the thousand many things I have at my pretty table.

Later at night, I get to update my memory book in this particular floral book which was given by Zawaniz. I selected my photos from my archives in Google photos and that was when I realised that I don’t really have a lot of pictures with my husband. So it was very difficult to choose a photo of the both of us to go inside the book. In a way, this will remind me to snap more pictures of the both of us together.

I printed the photos on an A4 glossy paper using the Brother’s printer. I think I need to re adjust the printing settings to get the best quality photos.

Spend the best 2 hours in my Minci Cave. Today is another day of cleaning and sorting. What an awesome way to spend my Sunday.

Hobominci : Ohayou Hobonichi Cousin 2018

I am still on the Hobonichi bandwagon. Last year I used the English A6 version of Hobonichi and penned my thoughts on it. For 2018 – after much contemplating, I decided to switch to the A5 Cousin Avec.

After binging on Youtube videos on how some people choose to setup their Cousin – this is my take on how I choose to personalise mine.

An overview of my local school holidays. Note that I havent slot in the special school hols related to the major festive seasons. That I need to ask my sister.

If I am to take blogging at least semi-seriously, I should at least plan some of my posts. Heres an index of what my blog post should be like

The page to put in birthdays, important appointments or events. The occasional Malaysian holidays as well of course. Not to forget the CME dates once I get back to work.

This would be the more precise outline of the day but not exclusively to my daily task. It could be my To Do List. Random words of wisdom in between the columns. Interesting facts here and there. Or just a sticker and a picture to brighten the page. At the sides would be a rough estimate of my expenses throughout the week. Perhaps my list of parcels Im waiting to be delivered. Meal planning at the bottom part, maybe? Nothing too personal on these pages for sure – as I might need to show them to certain people as the days go by. To prove Im busy sorta thing. HAHAHA.

And these pages are where my inner thoughts or creative juices would flow. A vision board in the early part of the month followed by highlights of the day sort of journalling. This, can be more personal. I can cut out pictures. Or use Instax ones for really special days.

And this – every year its the same goal. Losing weight. Maybe this year Id be more motivated as its more obvious on the graph. Huhu.

I know I will plan utilizing the features in the Cousin well. Im just hoping to be more consistent in my journalling. Heres to a Hobo 2018.
