“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.”
― Charles M. Schulz
I love the Xmas season. Malaysia may not have snow but the festive occasion still resonates a common theme wherever you are. Its all about Giving.
To the unfortunate. To the less able. To the poor.
Its about Sharing the Joy. Its about Forgiveness.
I have to say to celebrate Xmas in Sarawak is more ‘happening’. Having served in the state for almost 3 years and despite not celebrating Xmas myself, I still find joy in the visits from the local churchgroup as they perform Xmas carols from one ward to the other. And all this done upon the grounds of racial and religious harmony. Such that you dont hear Muslim patients complaining to the hospital board regarding such practices.
Enough with Xmas.
December is also a joy every year as I get to plan ahead of what I plan to accomplish for the year 2014. I have failed to read 12 books a year as a start. Bummer. I still want to read books but I figured I should make my goals more specific. Perhaps instead of mentioning,
“I will read 12 books a year”
I shall go for,
” I will read [title of book] in January”
Yes, I think I got a hang of it. Time for resolutions for a new year ahead.
